All of Bollinger Capital Management’s websites rely heavily on technical analysis and charting programs. Our recent upgrades offer more interactive and customizable charts, with data that updates continuously without interrupting the user's experience.
Ultimately the most customizable and flexible chart services can only be achieved through programming, which allows users to customize and/or even create their own indicators. Such programming languages are already available in high-end stand-alone financial software (Genesis, TradeStation, Metastock, etc…) but can be expensive and not web based.
On
EquityTrader.com and
BBForex.com we offer interactive charts with advanced features such as dragging, zooming in and out, vertical and horizontal trackers, trendlines, continuous data updates, drag and drop re-ordering of charts, etc. We wanted to take advantage of all these features and build an editor on top of our existing platform to offer our users the ability to program their own indicators on top of our advanced charts, using the chart engine itself to load the data and to display it.
To facilitate the programming, we have developed a simple language at the same level as Microsoft Excel in terms of complexity and ease of learning. We started with the most basic tools for users to build more complex and versatile indicators. Users are encouraged to write their own code and share it using our online discussion forum. We will also provide continuous support to this language and post indicator codes online regularly for users to use.
